The Nortrail Group is experiencing substantial growth within the 3PL segment. After the establishment of Nortrail’s 15000m2 logistics centre at Alnabru in January 2014, the company already has the need to expand it’s warehousing capacity.
In addition to the 3PL services provided by Nortrail Logistics, all crossdocking and terminal services for Norsk Trailer Express’ international traffics are carried out at the same location, where we at the same time have had a need to expand the capacity.
The Logistics Centre at Alnabru has a very central and strategic location in Oslo, and for this reason the Nortrail Group has decided that the head office at Alnabru will be developed exclusively as a logistics centre as of 01.01.2016. The 3PL capacity for Nortrail Logistics will as a result be increased by 35%.
Simultaniously with the expansion for the 3PL logistics services at Alnabru, Nortrail will transfer all crossdocking and terminal services to three strategically-placed terminals located at all main gateways in to Oslo. Nortrail will as a result achieve a significantly increased capacity for effective terminal operations, an important part of our growth strategy for international transports.
These terminals will be directly connected to our nationwide distribution system for the whole of Norway. The strategic loaction of the terminals around Oslo will lead to transport-time, traffic and environmental benefits. In addition there is the exemtion to unload 25,25 meter module wagon trains at the Skedsmo and Langhus terminals for the Nordic traffics, giving further environmental benefits.
The Nortrail Group’s activities will as of 01.01.2016 be based at the following locations:
Oslo: Head office and 15 000m2 logistics centre
Skedsmo: Crossdocking terminal, 3000m2, 24 docks
Langhus: Crossdocking terminal, 2800m2, 22 docks
Drammen: Crossdocking terminal, 2100m2, 21 docks
